How to Add a Cost Item to the Price List

Adding cost items to your Price List helps streamline estimating by allowing you to reuse standard items with predefined unit costs. Follow the steps below to add a cost item:

  • Click on Price List in the top menu bar.
  • On the right-hand side, click + Item to create a new cost item.

    Enter the following details:

    • Description of the item
    • Select the appropriate Cost Code
    • Choose a Cost Quantity
    • Set the Unit of Measure
    • Enter the Unit Cost

      To add Associated Costs (such as labor or equipment), click Add Associated Cost:

    • Select the Cost Type
    • Enter the Quantity
    • Choose a Unit of Measure
    • Set the Unit Cost

Note: Associated costs are always applied per quantity of the primary item.

  • You can add multiple associated costs to any cost item as needed.
  • Once complete, click Submit to save the cost item to your Price List.

Your cost item is now available for use in estimates and takeoffs throughout Buildend.
