How to Create a Cost Markup

Cost Markups in Buildend allow you to apply additional costs—such as overhead or profit—either as a flat amount or a percentage. Here’s how to create a cost markup:

• Click on your Profile Avatar in the top right corner of the screen.
• Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
• In the left-hand navigation, scroll down to Data Settings and click on Objects to expand the list.
• Click on Cost Markup.

Create a New Cost Markup

• Click + New Cost Markup.

  Fill in the following details:

  • Markup Name
  • Markup Type (choose either Flat or Percentage)
  • Markup Value
  • Select the Cost Types that this markup will apply to

Optional Configurations

• Minimum Value (if applicable)

• Maximum Value that the markup can apply to

  Enable whether the markup should apply to:

  • Baseline Schedule Value on a contract
  • Change Order Schedule Value on a contract
• After entering and reviewing all information, click Submit to create the cost markup.

Your new cost markup will now be available for use in estimates and contract configurations throughout Buildend.
