Uploading a Drawing Set to a Project
Uploading a drawing set in Buildend helps organize and manage construction documents efficiently. Follow the steps below to upload and process a new drawing set:
Step 1: Upload the Drawing Set
- Navigate to the Project where you want to upload the drawing set.
- Click on Documents in the top navigation bar, then select Drawings.
On the top right, click Create Drawing Set.
Fill in the following details:
- Drawing Set Name
- Issue Date
- Revision
Under Attached Drawings, upload the PDF file that contains the drawings.
If the PDF contains multiple types of drawings (e.g., civil, electrical, architectural):
- Check the box "Does this set include multiple drawing types?"
- Enter the names of the additional sets only if they don’t already exist in the project.
- Click Create & Track Sign-In to proceed.
Step 2: Enable OCR (Optional)
- You will be prompted to enable OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
- Enable this only if the drawings are scanned images (i.e., not in vector format).
Step 3: Define Drawing Set Mapping
- Begin defining mapping by page number. For example:
- Page 1–4 = Civil
- Page 5–10 = Architectural
- Click Add Mapping for each range.
- In the Set column, select which Drawing Set the mapped pages belong to.
In the Actions column, click the Mapping button next to each set.
For each mapped section:
- Click Drawing Name and Number.
Use the selection boxes to highlight the drawing number and drawing name on the drawing.
After all mappings are completed, click Extract Properties.
- This will extract the drawing numbers and names for all selected pages.
Step 4: Review and Save
- Review the extracted drawing names and numbers.
- Make any necessary edits or corrections.
- Click Save Drawings to save the drawing set into the Drawings module.
Your drawing set is now uploaded, processed, and organized for team access and use throughout the project lifecycle.
